Zachary Levi Hits The Speedway

Posted: 31 May 2011 03:45 PM PDT

Back in my 20s I hung out at a speedway one day. I have to say that it was one of my favorite experiences ever. I thought for sure that Zachary Levi would be one of those people that had been there before. He was at the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race on Sunday for the first time. He was there to celebrate the 10oth anniversary.

His late grandfather, Alton Pugh, was one of the track's famed "yellow shirts" for over 20 years. Pugh, who lived in Amo, spent more than two decades wearing a canary yellow shirt and directing traffic and race fans at the track. "Most of security knew him as 'The Old Man,' " said Levi, who added that attending the race's 100th anniversary celebration was especially meaningful because of his family background. "It's pretty crazy. It's amazing to hear about the race as a kid."

His show, Chuck, was renewed for it’s final season recently. I can’t imagine life without Chuck.
