The All-American Rejects New Album ‘Kids In the Street’ Out Now Posted: 27 Mar 2012 05:47 PM PDT With its surreal, synth-driven sound, title track "Kids In The Street" is an indicator of how the band has let itself grow musically. "I feel like we’ve come into a sound that is really original for us," frontman Tyson Ritter says. "You can also hear it on 'Gonzo' and 'Fast & Slow.' We’re putting in doses of instrumentation, like horns and various synths, that we’ve never injected into our music before, and I think it’s taken our sound to a different place." The band credits working with Grammy-nominated producer Greg Wells (Adele, Katy Perry, OneRepublic) with helping them to evolve while still retaining what their fans love about them. The band is currently preparing for a run of East Coast dates in the US (including a performance at The Bamboozle Festival) before heading overseas for a UK tour supporting Blink-182. For more information on AAR, including their full tour schedule, head to their official site, www.allamericanrejects.com as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages. "Kids In The Street's hallmark is a desire not to let past successes define the band, in all it's easily their most ambitious and praiseworthy effort to date. " 4/5 -AP Sidebar: I had to add that I received the record yesterday. I downloaded it immediately and started listening to it. I have to say that the ballads like Affection and Heartbeat Slowing Down were my favorite songs. I felt that the album had a whole edgier feel to it and very original. I love where AAR have went with his album. |
