Anyone that knows me, knows I’m definitely a sports girl. There are very few athletic events that I don’t enjoy or watch, and let’s face it, while Soccer may be my favorite – I LOVE me some Baseball!
So, how happy was I to hear that the Baseball Hall of Fame finally got their heads out of their nether regions and inducted Ron Santo? VERY! I’m a little more than slightly peeved that he didn’t receive this deserved honor until posthumously, but better late than never, I suppose.
In the event that you don’t know who he is, allow me to enlighten you.
He played MLB from 1960-1974, most memorably as a third baseman for the Chicago Cubs. He was a nine time all star and won FIVE, count them FIVE Gold Glove awards. Not only this, but he was also a long-time sports radio commentator.
Definitely the caliber of man to look up to.
