Posted: 18 Sep 2011 10:31 PM PDT Dear Gossips, The Emmy Awards wrap-up will happen off the top today. And then we’ll get to everything else. We liveblogged the show last night though. Posted: 19 Sep 2011 06:24 AM PDT Now you know I am all over the hotness of Brad Pitt. I even like him with a bob. Brad Pitt, even weathered, noticeably, still works for me. Almost always works for me. Except... Not even I can defend this cover. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2011 05:50 AM PDT Written by Duana Season 3 Episode 1 reca Oh lord we are BACK! I had to re-read the season finale from last year and, honestly, even though I wrote it, I’m so dizzy. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2011 05:31 AM PDT It breaks my heart a little at how adorably awkward Kit Harington looks in almost every photo from the Emmys last night. He seemed slightly more comfortable the day before at the BAFTA LA tea party in skinny khakis and a white shirt. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2011 05:14 AM PDT Written by Sarah Amidst all the Emmys crazy, let’s take a moment to assess TIFF 2011 and see where we’re at early in the awards race. |
Emmy 2011 Worst: Zooey Deschanel Posted: 19 Sep 2011 04:38 AM PDT Am I supposed to picture her plucking the petals off of some flower, in a meadow, while her bike leans against a tree, as beams of sunlight filter through her eyelashes and her voice skips across the clouds, carried by the wind. |
Worst Emmy Crop Top: Gwyneth Paltrow Posted: 19 Sep 2011 04:28 AM PDT In 1997, Jada Pinkett wore a crop top to the Oscars, remember? Click here for a refresher. It’s the first thing I thought of when I saw Gwyneth last night. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2011 04:14 AM PDT I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I can’t post more photos. I’m sorry that the goddamn photo agencies didn’t bother taking more photos. I’m sorry that Idris Elba, a nominee, wasn’t important enough for them to want to take photos. |
Emmy Best Dressed: Evan Rachel Wood Posted: 19 Sep 2011 04:05 AM PDT Sasha was right. After I finally had a full length look at it, she was totally right. Evan Rachel Wood’s black beaded amazingness was indeed the best of the night. I’m not saying it could have stood up to the bests of other award nights because, let’s be honest, last night was so much, too much, medium, more medium than we’ve seen in a long time. |
Worst Winning Dress – Melissa McCarthy Posted: 19 Sep 2011 03:56 AM PDT Written by Duana Oy, oy, oy. Again we wonder why we’re looking at the dress, rather than the woman. So let me dispense with this part first. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2011 03:37 AM PDT Jon Hamm looked bummed out when Mad Men won for Best Drama. Jon Hamm also has a man-crush on Coach Taylor. This is why we love Jon Hamm. Who looked, as usual, very handsome last night. And very chivalrously helped several ladies up on stage. |
Worst Stomach Clench – Connie Britton Posted: 19 Sep 2011 03:23 AM PDT Written by Duana Warning: I get emotional in here. If it’s not for you, no prob. Oh, you guys. Unbelievable. What a roller coaster ride if you’re a Britton fan. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2011 03:10 AM PDT First it was Jason Katims for Writing... which... It’s about F-CKING TIME!!!! What? You don’t understand? Because you don’t watch??? Well... I don’t know what else I can say. |
Worst ‘girlfriends’: Minka Kelly/ Drew Barrymore Posted: 19 Sep 2011 02:33 AM PDT Written by Duana A couple of weeks ago it was my sisters’ wedding. The photographer had all the women walk in lockstep, saying it would be a cool shot. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2011 02:18 AM PDT When TIFF was winding last week and several of us sat around comparing notes and gossiping, as we always do after the festival, a few minutes of the conversation was devoted to a certain actress who looked spectacular in photographs, wearing what was truly an inspired dress, but who actually has a serious skin problem which you can see up close. |
Worst Emmy Hair: Elisabeth Moss Posted: 19 Sep 2011 02:08 AM PDT Elisabeth Moss was born in 1982. She’s only 29 years old. She’s YOUNGER THAN BRITNEY SPEARS. Now that this has been thrown in your face, it makes her hair last night even more offensive, right? How does a 29 year old girl show up at the Emmys with Allison Janney’s 1960s old lady helmet from The Help? This is the kind of sh-t that makes me so angry. |
Best Emmy Fist Pump: Kate Winslet Posted: 19 Sep 2011 01:55 AM PDT I loved that Kate Winslet, who is now just a Tony Award away from EGOT, was so unabashedly happy about winning her Emmy. Maybe it was put on, maybe she was pretending it meant as much to her as the others, but if we have a choice between the two, I’ll take the one that says that she wanted it badly, as anyone would, even Kate Winslet, and when it happened, she wasn’t shy about demonstrating the extent of that want, in the form of a fist pump. |
Worst Hamster Wheel: Julie Bowen Posted: 19 Sep 2011 01:40 AM PDT Written by Duana This is a hard one. Of course it is impossible to miss how thin Julie Bowen is. I didn’t hear her on the carpet this time, and she is not one of the people whose magazine profiles I will read while standing in the drugstore but she apparently has a host of excuses for why that is. |
Best Red & better than LeAnn Rimes:Martha Plimpton Posted: 19 Sep 2011 01:26 AM PDT How did I just realise that they have the same face? Needless to say, as already noted in other articles and this goes way back to the 80s, I love Martha Plimpton, so it makes me sad to have to point that out. |
