Be warned, the message I am about to convey, the opinions that I am about to express, are mine and mine alone, not that of TEN or Taylor Blue, who has been gracious enough to allow me this post. My thoughts will, in all likelihood, cause a huge backlash because my mentality isn’t of the popular persuasion, and that’s okay. We are all entitled to have our say. I respect yours, I ask you to do the same.
Chances are most of you, if not all of you, know the band in the picture above, and if you have come to this site, you most definitely do.
Regarding the recent bomb that has been dropped concerning them, I have the following to say:
There are many sides to every story, especially when it involves a band with several members. If you haven’t gotten all of those sides, if you haven’t been presented with every aspect of the situation, then you cannot aptly make a call to pass a correct judgment on one member or all of them, based on the accounts of others.
Frankly, the business surrounding the music doesn’t have anything to do with us, as fans. It doesn’t change the way the music sounded when they played it. It doesn’t take back the memories that we acquired attending a concert when they ALL played together. It shouldn’t change our opinion of them as individuals, because they haven’t done anything to personally offend or upset any of us.
Whatever they have going on behind closed doors, is their concern, and we should show them, ALL OF them support, and if you pray, do so with the hopes that they will come out on the other side of their differences as friends, not allowing business to get in the way.
Bashing, berating, and plain cruelty is not needed, nor necessary.
I will say this…I too, have had my opinions on this topic and many others that I keep to myself. It’s only human to want to jump and protect people that you care about. I understand that better than you can imagine.
At the end of the day, regardless of whatever happens behind the curtain, I thank each of them – Jackson Rathbone, Jerad Anderson, Ben Johnson, Ben Graupner, and Lawrence Abrams, for sharing a piece of their soul, bringing us their music.
And just as importantly:
Jay,
This too shall pass, as hard as it is. I know that’s difficult to feel right now, standing in the middle of a shit storm, sans umbrella, but it’s true. And just know that when it does, eventually, the rainbow you see will be worth it.
Grasp the ol’ country sayin’. “Ya gotta do, whatcha gotta do” sometimes. Surround yourself with strong, positive people, who are also bluntly honest, and that don’t mind being unpopular for a while. THEN you can’t go wrong.
Much Love,
Wills.
I wish them all the best, knowing the situation will work itself out the way it’s intended to. Just remember guys and dolls, if it’s bothering you so much to strike such a reaction in you, what they must be feeling. Show support and love, not hate and animosity.
Best always.
